Muscle Strengthening with Yann Guyader 05: One-leg flexing

Your legs are still hurting? Never mind! Speed skating World Champion Yann Guyader presents a new drill to gain power while working on your skating stance. Here we go for a series of leg flexions…

By

One-leg flexions

The good stance

  • On one leg only, get into a skating stance
  • Do flexions
  • Make sure your shoulders remain on the same line, so that once back on skate you don't pump
  • Only your bottom goes up and down

Tips

Don't go up to a complete straight leg to avoid injuries.

Repetitions

15 flexions on one leg / 15 on the other leg
