200m flying laps - senior ladies

We keep the same top four as for 300m time trial and 500m sprint but the order is different! This time, Manon Kamminga (NED, 15,958) was a bit faster than Laethisia Schimek (GER, 16,009). Manon seems to have recovered quite well after her fall in the point/elimination race.
Erika Zanetti (ITA, 16,013) took the last place on the podium in front of Jana Gegner (GER, 16,051)

200m flying laps - senior men

Mulder brothers feel like home on the track of Almere. Michel took gold in the 500m and Ronald did the same in the 200m flying lap.
It was mandatory to perform a time under 15 seconds to be on the podium of the 200m flying lap in the senior men category.
Ronald Mulder (NED, 14,926) dominated Andrea Angeletti (ITA, 14,957) and Darren de Souza (FRA, 14,978). Michel Mulder (NED, 15,021) is off to the podium. The Spanish star Ioseba Fernandez (ESP, 15,138) took the fifth place.

200m flying laps - junior ladies

The fastest girl on skates in the junior category was Daria Tiberto (ITA, 16,507). She finished ahead of Alisa Gutermuth (GER, 16,557) and her compatriot Carlotta Simbula (ITA, 16,683).

200m flying laps - junior men

Simon Albrecht (GER, 15,004) is continuing is harvest of medals. He would have taken the 4th place in the senior category in front of Michel Mulder! He finishes four-tenths of a second before Stefano Gili (ITA, 15,483) and Mathias Voste (BEL, 15,531).

Relays

Senior men: Squadra Azzurra wins

France takes the lead early in the race with Italy and the Netherlands in its wheel. Italy goes away, France keeps the pace and the Netherlands are still in third position. French skaters overtake the squadra azzurra but all the other teams keeps fighting. Italy manages to escape once more. Three laps to go, France is fourth. Italy has did the gap and crosses the line first. Belgium catch the second place ahead of the Netherlands thanks to a nice hawk finish.

Senior women: only 3 nation on the start line!

Such a low turnout for the European Championship is a disservice to skating.
The Netherlands takes the lead of the race with Germany and Italy in their wheel. The speed is moderate until mid race where Elma De Vries (NED) accelerates. Germany takes a good relay and sends Jana Gegner in orbit. Manon Kamminga (NED) comes back. Italy is third.
3 laps to go: Germany takes the lead and Italy is disqualified. The last Dutch relay led by Manon Kamminga is impressive. She just snatch victory on the start line thanks to a hawk finish against Germany (2nd).

Junior Men: Germany can count on Albrecht

The group stays compact in the junior men's race. Italy and France are at the forefront early in the race. Then Germany leads the pac. France starts the race well loses its position because of a German fault. Germany gets a warning. The French team must work to come back to the front from the 6th place.
5 laps to go: Germany increase the gap and will not be reached anymore. Spain is in pursuit with the Netherlands. The Netherlands comes back with Italy in the wheel. France is disqualified, Germany won the race, raising the arms before the line. The Netherlands get the second place ahead of Italy.

Junior Women: moving battlefront

Good start for the French skaters led by Deborah Marchand. Italy, Germany and the Netherlands are behind. Germany manages to take the lead halfway. France is still in the race to take the lead. The Franco-German mini-escape is caught by the other nations. France leads the race, followed by Spain which overtakes France under the leadership of N. Nuno. 2 laps to go: Germany overtakes France and Spain. In the last lap, Germany keeps his lead and wins over Spain and the Netherlands. France is not rewarded for her work and finishes 4th.
