Interview with Noah Sing, Inline-Alpine Skater (Germany)

Like his sister Mona, Noah Sing (Germany) was born on skis and discovered Inline-Alpine Skating during summer training sessions...

By  Alexandre CHARTIER

Hello Noah, Can you introduce yourself?

I'm 21 years old and I live in Winnenden in Germany. I study Public Management. At the moment, I work in a city near Winnenden as a part of my studies. I like to play saxophone, to skate and to hang out with my friends.

How did you start to skate ?

I began to ski when I was three years old. When I was older I participated in some ski competitions. That' s why I started to do Inline Alpine in the summer time to stay in shape and to prepare for the Winter season. Since I was a child, I have been interested in Inline-Skating and did it just for fun back then. At the age of 7, I started with the Inline Alpine sport and in 2003, I did my first competition.

Why did you choose inline alpine?

Originally, I started with skiing but I switched to skating. It's just a lot fun.

Did you try other practices?

I like to play volleyball, badminton and inline-hockey. In winter, I ski a lot and also do snowboarding. Before I focused that much on Inline Alpine, I did judo until I was 12.

How did you get in touch with Powerslide?

My sister was already in the Powerslide Team. Last year, I had a good season and the Powerslide Team changed a bit. Two former members left the team and Mona took over the management of the Powerslide Team. In order to keep the team alive Mona searched some new team members. When she asked me if I would like to join, I gladely accepted, because I already skate with the Powerslide material. I was very happy to be able to join the Powerslide team.

Tell us a few words about your skates...

I skate with the Powerslide C8 boot and the Icon 110mm frame. I like the shoe a lot. The boot is hard and stiff and fits good to my foot. Because of that you can transfer your strength pretty good to the ground.

What are your goals for the 2017 World Roller Games?

I'm looking forward to the event and hope that it will help this sport to become bigger and more popular. I think I will definitly have a lot of fun no matter what position I may achieve.

What are your projects for the future?

I never reached the top 3 in a World Cup Race. I scored the 4th or 5th already but I never made it into the Top 3. That is something I want to succeed on in the future.
