What will be remembered from that second day is the 3-2 victory of France vs Switzerland. The French are even losing the first period against a strong Helvetian team, as defensive as conquering.
Portugal easily wins against Italy (3-0), a score achieved as soon as the first period. Then, the Lusitanians are in the lead with Spain!
However, the Spanish team makes sure to stay on top in beating England 21-1. The first point was scored after 2 minutes. At the half-time, Spain was "only" leading 9-1. Back from the locker room, the Iberians stepped on the accelerator and won the second period 21-0. Antonio Perez scored 8 goals and Pedro Gil scored 5.
Let's note that the game was refereed by Pascal Hanras of the SA Mérignac.
Tomorrow, France will meet Spain. Let's hope that the Hispanics do not plan to reinforce their goal-average against the French, in order that the French team does not go down further in the ranking of these 50th European Championships.
