First results of NYC Skate Marathon 2012 (USA)

The NYC Skate Marathon was held on 29th September 2012. The race was won by Garikoitz Lerga, a former member of the Spanish national team that finished in the top 10 at the World Championships. He finished ahead of Francisco Ramirez (MPC) and Christopher Fiola (MPC / Il Peloton).

The pack skated at a steady pace during the race. Jerome Comtois-Urbain deciced to attack and took 20 seconds ahead of the pack. Justin Stelly chased and joined the escapee. He blew up and was overtaken by the pack. Hard race for his first ultra marathon race!

In the women's race, the first place of the race is for Kara Peterson (Adam's Team). Only two "pros" ladies were on the starting line of the race. The second, Morgane Echardour (Calvano) abandoned halfway, tired of having to skate alone at a slow pace and with sore feet.
